At Ossington Station, a woman and her young daughter walked on the train. The little girl never missed a beat, she opened her arms wide and walked straight ahead to this woman and embraced her dog. It was like they’d been old friends forever. She sat beside the woman for several stops, talking, and sharing stories and then she took out her notebook. She was showing the woman some drawings and stories and the woman was kindly smiling and acknowledging her. Finally, the little girl tore a page out of her book, folded it and pushed it into the woman’s bag. “This is so you can remember me”. And in an instant, she and her mom were off the train. Adorable!
I exited at the next stop and when I passed the woman I said, “don’t you wish it was always that easy to make friends’? She smiled and agreed.
